The MacBook lineup just got refreshed at WWDC 2012. A whole new range of MacBooks have flown in this time, in both the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro range.
MacBook Airs
The MacBook Airs, known for their sleek design and ultraportability got a refresh at WWDC 2012. The 11 inch MacBook Air now comes with a 1.7Ghz dual-core processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of flash storage on it. There is also a 128GB model which costs around 100$ more than the 64GB model. The MacBook Air 11-inch are the cheapest entry level MacBooks that are available.
The 13-inch MacBook on the other side now comes with a 1.8GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor and 4GB of RAM. SSD Storage is 128GB on the most basic one and can be upgraded to 256GB or 512GB, as per needs. The second version of the MacBook Air is priced at 1199$ and comes with the 256GB SSD Storage. The upgrade to 512GB SSD from the 256GB will set you back by 500$.
Both the laptops come with Intel HD Graphics 4000 and are a significant upgrade to the existing lineup of MacBook Airs.
Macbook Pro
The MacBook Pros are the most widely used MacBooks around the world. The MacBooks now come with more power and RAM on them.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro comes with a 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 and 4GB of RAM. 500GB of Harddisk storage space is provided and the higher end MacBook Pro 13 inch comes with a 2.9Ghz i7 processor and has specs similar to the i5 model.
While the 15-inch MacBook Pro now comes with a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor as standard, along with a minimum of 4GB RAM and 500GB of Hard disk space. There are two models in the 15-inch MacBook Pro as well and both come with NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 512MB of GDDR5 memory. The higher end MacBook Pro features a 2.6 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 on it and both the laptops come with ThunderBolt ports.
Next Generation MacBook Pro
The Next Gen MacBook Pro is a hybrid of the MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air, with a much sleeker and inspiring design and with a much higher price tag.
The New MacBook Pros come with a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 on the lower version and 2.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 on the higher one. These come with an exceptional Retina Display on them, with a maximum resolution of 2880×1800, making the display the most vibrant one to use. With 8GB of RAM as the standard, the next generation MacBook Pros come with 256GB-512GB of SSD Flash Storage. These MacBook Pros are powered by NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1GB of GDDR5 memory for excellent graphics.
