Looks and Design
On the front of the phone, we have a 5.2-inch stunning display, Ambient light sensor, speaker, LED notification light and an 8-megapixel snapper. On the bottom, we have a loud speaker, Micro USB port for charging, and microphone. The side frame of the phone is plastic. The back cover of the 5C is anodized metal finish, which makes the aluminum tough.
One the side right side of the phone we have volume rocker and power buttons and both are easy to access with one hand. On the left side of the phone, we have SIM module, supports dual Nano SIM. One slot is for dedicated SIM, and another slot is the hybrid slot, which means we can use either SIM or MicroSD card. The top of the phone has a microphone and 3.5mm headphone jack. The back of the phone has a 12-megapixel snapper; Single LED flash and Huawei fingerprint version 2.0
Overall the phone is slim and feels lightweight. It’s easy to hold in one hand and looks premium for the price.
Display
Honor 5C has 5.2 inch 1920 x 108o IPS display. Unfortunately, it does not come with gorilla glass for protection. So we have to be careful. The display is bright, and I see no problem in viewing angles and using under the sunlight or indoors.
Performance and OS
5C is packed with Kirin 650 Octa-Core Processor, 16 nm chipset and comes with 2 GB RAM. Out of eight cores, four cores has max clock speed at 2 GHz and remaining four core has a max clock at 1.7 GHz. The processor size is 16 nanometer which means all the transistors and packed closer to the processor core, which in turn improves the data transmission.
To test the Kirin 650 performance, we did some stress test in real word scenario; we were playing high graphics intense games like asphalt. Though the device heated up a bit, compared to other phones in the segment, Kirin 650, 16 nm chipset stood up.
Honor 5C has 3000 mAh battery that doesn’t mean the phone will underperform. Kirin 650, 16 nm chipset delivers higher performance at the same time it’s not eating the battery too much and under heavy usage like calls, gaming, browsing, etc. It comes for a day.
Honor 5C runs on Android 6.0 M, which is wrapped with EMUI 4.1. Both plays a significant role which it comes to buttery smooth UI and performance of the device.
Unlike other budget smartphones, Honor 5C has a built-in fingerprint (Version 2.0) sensor for additional security. With the fingerprint sensor, we can make multiple gestures like open and close notifications, answer calls, swipe photos in the gallery, take pictures while using the camera. The fingerprint sensor is very impressive on a budget phone. The fingerprint sensor is as fast as the Touch ID on iPhone 6S. The fingerprint registered on the phone is stored on a secured layer on Kirin 650 processor, which restricts the third party apps from accessing the fingerprint of the user.
Honor 5C has an inbuilt memory of 16 GB but has an expandable storage up to 128 GB.
 Camera
5C has a 13-megapixel snapper at the back; the images captured though the camera is sharp and beautiful. There is a front facing 8 megapixel for best selfies and video calling. Apart from regular camera modes, with Honor 5C we have pro photo and pro video, where we can manually control every feature for better photography and videos. We also have a new scan mode which scans the documents.
Price
The price of Honor 5C is 10,999/- INR and absolutely value for money.
Verdict
For 10999/- first, we will get a stunning 1080p display in the segment. The Kirin 650 chipset makes the 5C a performance phone. With low energy chip, the battery life of the phone stands for a day. When it comes to snapping pictures, the 13 megapiexel snapper does its job, and for selfie and video calling 8-megapixel front facing camera comes to play. My advice, don’t think twice, just close your eyes and get Honor 5C.
